Competitions
Competitive activities tend to bring out the best of the best and accelerate the growth of others who take part. While the thrill of participation and competition with an aim toward winning is the ultimate outcome desired by all involved, there are in the end few who obtain the top prizes. Therefore, the NESSIC emphasis will be on learning and the joy of participation in such forms of extension so that everyone gains from sharing. Here too, a team of top talents from NESSIC participating schools will determine the kinds of events, frequency, location, timing, hosting guidelines and costs per student. For live events, the aim is to provide growth, development, live social interaction and challenge that is low cost and cost effective per student. In our first year, we will begin with these shown and develop more based on the interest shown in a survey of participating schools.

2nd Annual NESSIC Photography Competition
The NESSIC Photography Competition returns for its second year, inviting students to share their unique perspectives and tell meaningful stories through the lens of a camera. Returning participants will recognize the same four themes from last year, which have been retained to encourage creativity, reflection, and personal expression through photography.

Student Activities offer an exciting and important means developing talent through extension. They are meant to build on the learning in their school and apply that learning in a broader forum of presentation, interaction, and engagement. Although some events may be competitive, the emphasis is not on winning, it is on participating, learning, improving and enjoying the process. Here, too, a team of experts in organizing student activities will create Activities Guidelines and begin work initially on the events shown below in this start-up year, with more to come as participation increases. Some can be done online for optimal involvement and others will be live one-day or weekend events.
