Statement on Conflict of Interest for Advisory Board Members
NESSIC is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and ethical conduct, particularly among our Advisory Board members. Recognizing and properly managing conflicts of interest is crucial to preserving the transparency and trust that are foundational to our operations and governance.
Definition: A conflict of interest arises when an Advisory Board member's personal, social, financial, or political interests might conflict with their duties toward NESSIC or compromise the impartial and objective performance of their responsibilities.
Procedure: If a potential conflict of interest is identified, the concerned Advisory Board member is required to disclose the conflict to the rest of the Advisory Board. The matter will be evaluated, and appropriate measures will be taken, which may include altering the member’s involvement in specific decisions or projects, or imposing additional oversight and transparency requirements.
Commitment: NESSIC is dedicated to conducting its affairs transparently and ethically, which includes rigorous management of conflicts of interest. This approach ensures that all decisions are made in a manner that best serves the interests of NESSIC and its diverse community, reinforcing our commitment to promoting educational excellence and collaborative innovation.
By adhering to these guidelines, NESSIC ensures that the actions and decisions of its Advisory Board members are free from personal bias and are solely in the interest of advancing the network’s objectives, thereby safeguarding the integrity and values of our organization.
