NESSIC Benefits

  • Platform for Information Exchange:  NESSIC serves as a platform for information exchange, allowing schools to share ideas, resources, and experiences, which can inspire innovation and improve educational outcomes. Key to this benefit is the Annual Leadership Conference. ​

  • Professional Development Resources:  Access workshops, seminars, or training sessions which are provided or facilitated by NESSIC to enhance professional skills, foster innovation, and support career advancement for educators and administrators. 

  • Promotion and Acknowledgement:  NESSIC serves as a platform for highlighting school excellence, capable of promoting the value of the sector to the broader community. ​

  • Contribution to Decision Making:  Representation on NESSIC decision-making bodies amplifies the contribution to education made by the individual and school, and supports the promotion of school reputation across multiple communities. ​

  • Access to Athletic and Sporting Events: Schools receive enhanced visibility through participation in NESSIC-sponsored sporting events and leagues. Participation or hosting enhances the school's reputation and fosters pursuit of excellence and school spirit. ​

  • Cultural, Student Leadership and Artistic Exchange Opportunities: Access student leadership, cultural and artistic exchange programmes organised by NESSIC to promote cultural understanding, creativity, collaboration and pursuit of excellence. ​

  • Access to Research and Resources:  Access collective research findings, educational resources, and industry insights generated by NESSIC and by participating schools, enabling schools to stay informed about the latest trends, innovations, and best practices in education.  

  • Access to Facilities and Resources:  Access shared facilities, equipment, and resources provided by NESSIC schools, optimising resource utilisation and enhancing educational opportunities for students.  


 

Participation Criteria

​The Advisory Board is responsible for all decisions related to participation.

Eligibility to join NESSIC is granted contingent upon the school meeting the following standards:​

​​

  1. Be located in mainland China

  2. Operate in compliance with government regulations

  3. Be registered, or in the process of registration, as a Private School, Schools for Children of Foreign Nationals are not eligible

  4. Operate as a school with students enrolled full-time

  5. Be free from affiliations with a Chinese public school or university

  6. Receive recommendations from two NESSIC schools

  7. Agree to operate consistent with the Constitution and By-Laws

  8. Demonstrate alignment of school mission and vision with that of NESSIC

  9. Offer an international curriculum component

  10. Employ foreign experts as part of the teaching staff

  11. Demonstrate application of child protection and school safety policies.

When participation is granted, the school must remain in “good standing.”. Good standing is when the annual fee is paid by October 1 of each year, the annual school information database is updated, and the school fulfils ethical or behaviour standards that are set by the Advisory Board. Should a school not comply with these expectations after three written notices, the issue will be brought to the Advisory Board for review.

Each participant school of NESSIC shall be entitled to one vote on each matter presented by the Advisory Board at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
