About Us
NESSIC connects schools, enriches student experience, and develops educators
What is NESSIC?
The Network for Enriching Students and Schools in China (NESSIC) is a private not-for profit professional organization for private bilingual schools in China. NESSIC was founded by experienced Heads of Bilingual Schools to provide professional development and extension in student sports and activities for bilingual schools in China. NESSIC is designed to offer high quality services that are cost-effective for participating schools. Several high-profile conferences are held each year in different regions of China that address bilingual school issues within the China context. These events bring China experts to share experiences and increase awareness of regulations and practices through networking.

Welcome from the CEO
Welcome to NESSIC!
As we begin our second year as a professional network that supports and enriches students and staff in private bilingual schools in China, we have reflected on the intensity of our first year of operation and the effort, knowledge, teamwork, and commitment it took to become established. We are succeeding where other groups have failed because NESSIC:

Tom Ulmet, CEO of NESSIC
-
is created by heads of private bilingual schools for bilingual schools.
-
functions as a not-for-profit organisation
-
has a team of committed, determined volunteers who believe in the mission
-
has a diverse governing body and executive office of China veterans with vast experience within the China context, on average, about 18 years each.
We begin this year with a rich sports programme of post-season tournaments already in place with venues and dates determined collectively by sports leaders in our participating schools, led by three regional highly capable sports leaders.
Also in place are a range of unique student enrichment activities and events that provide extension. With these fundamental things in place, we will now begin to add additional special events such as Model UN, Robotics and other forms of cultural development.
With two major conferences in place, Leadership and Bilingual Education, interest in our cost-effective, relevant staff development grows along with our participating schools, which after starting last year with 7 schools, has already grown to 30 participating schools and we continue to receive great interest.
Most of all, participants are experiencing the joy of connecting, sharing, learning and contributing in ways promote constructive, positive interactions. Take a look at our participation criteria and see if NESSIC is for you!
All the best,

Tom Ulmet, MA, MEdCEO
